The Swaledale Mutton company, a small family business, was founded in 2005, based on a long held dream to have a Sheep Farm!

 

Started in Yorkshire, we moved to the Cotswolds in 2007, and the milder southern climate seems to suit our hardy Yorkshire Hill sheep!  The rough fields the sheep graze all year round adds further to the flavour and produces a lean meat.

We even lamb outside, whatever the weather, due to the toughness of the Swaledale breed!

 

Mutton is a fantastic meat, full of flavour, but sadly out of fashion now.  This is something we want to change, and to that end we are selling only the best, local meat, to local people, shops and restaurants.
